How do I get started?
Participate in a free, 30 minute consultation or sign-up in our client portal. Depending on your child’s needs and our experience, we will determine if SmallTalk is the right fit for you. All new students will start with an in-person informal assessment or an evaluation to determine areas of strength and need. Appropriate and functional goals will then be developed.
How do I know if my child would benefit from Speech-Language services?
Whether your child already receives services or you have underlying concerns, we are here to help! We encourage families to take advantage of our free, 30 minute consultation to review your child's communication.
How are the frequency and duration of sessions determined?
This will be discussed and agreed upon between family and therapist. This will also depend on individual needs, availability and geographical location.
How long are sessions?
30 to 45 minute sessions or 1 hour for coaching session.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time Small Talk is only accepting private pay. Upon request, a Superbill can be provided. Please note that we do not communicate with your insurance provider and do not guarantee that you will be reimbursed for services through your insurance.
What payments methods are accepted.
We accept cash, check or credit cards.
Where do services take place?
We can conduct sessions at your home, your child's daycare or school, or of course from anywhere in New York or Connecticut through remote sessions on your computer.
How does pricing work?
Pricing of services is dependent on type, frequency and duration of service, as well as the type of evaluation. Please call or email for details on pricing.
How long will my child require services?
This is dependent on several factors including each child's current level of functioning and need. We pride itself on open communication and will determine the required support as each child develops.
